During this Advent Season, I am reminded of Mary, whose greatest desire was to be of service to God. Because of her spiritual devotion, the Holy Spirit came upon her with a message of what was to be "hers to do." I think about how, like her, when given a dream that is mine to do, it initially feels unbelievable. It is as if the message I had just "heard" came to the wrong person. After all, I'm just a farm girl from How often do we turn away from the dreams trying to be dreamed through us simply because we haven't trusted, haven't been willing to hold firm to the vision of the end result. As I see it, this is the work at hand and the reason why I MasterMind weekly with consistency and, as needed when situations need to be solved quickly and easily. Heavenly Peace be mine ... __________________________________________ Feature Article CALL IT A SUCCESS! Several weeks ago, a 50' tall pine tree crashed on our newly renovated home. Many in the community came by to look, and I found it interesting that they all basically said, "We're sorry for your misfortune." I was amazed that every single person used the word: Misfortune? I never thought of it that way. First of all, I was in my office on the second floor when the crash happened, and a big tree branch came through my ceiling. I remember in that instant of realizing what was happening, thinking, "hold firm, house." I didn't want to see myself or our house sliding down into the lake! I wasn't scared at all. Every ounce of me firmly intended for the house to "hold firm." Some will say that we "attracted" it to happen. That's fine to think that. Certainly the "law of attraction" would say that we did. Many interpret this as something "bad" or mis-fortune. Old-school religion might say, "We did something bad or wrong, and we were being punished by God." New age religion might say we had been "thinking" negatively and therefore attracted it, meaning that we were doing something wrong or bad also. We as a society are really hung up on this right or wrong, good or bad stuff, and I'm feeling that it's a total waste of my energy to even take a moment to consider it. I never felt the tree falling into our house was bad, just an inconvenience to which I determined would eventually reveal an underlining understanding – if there was to be one. As of today, the understanding and insights are all about the many, many blessings of this experience. My intimate connection with God says: "Call it a Success ...and it is!"
Look at these boys. What LOVE ...what LIGHT! How blessed we are - and the parents of all of these boys are. What fun they are having at college! The clean up happened quickly. We took them out to dinner afterwards, and as we were talking about what needed to happen next, there seemed to be a shared limited belief among them that any good contractor would be booked solid, and we would NOT be able to get our roof renovated quickly. To which I stated, that we would be "brought" the right and perfect contractors to fix our roof before the first snow. The boys did not believe me for one minute. So I reiterated, "We will have a contractor before the week was out!" Being the wonderful, gentle spirits that they are, they tried hard not to roll their eyes in disbelief. The next day, during our morning MasterMind session, I simply formulated our request, "Of ourselves, we cannot do this, so thank you in advance for bringing us the right and perfect contractor to our front door, one who can fit us in immediately and complete the entire restoration before the first snow." Later that morning, we received a call from the carpenter we had hired to create carriage doors for our newly renovated garage. He was on his way to deliver our new doors. As he was standing with us, chatting about our new doors, he noticed our roof had a hole in it! He said directly to me, "Do you need someone who can fix it?" Craig and I restrained ourselves from jumping on the man and kissing him to death! His brother Nils just happened to be a contractor who fixes roofs! They are finishing the interior painting as I am writing this. So, why is this not mis-fortune? Let's look at all the endless demonstration of blessings:
I may be forgetting something in that list, but I think you get the idea. I guess we could simply say that we attracted the tree because we needed all of these great and wonderful things to occur for our safe keeping ... we just didn't know it! Which makes me think of the verse about how "God answers before you call." Christmas and the holiday season for all the World's religions is about "loving" and "believing" in the connection to the Divine as the ultimate provider of the Peace that Passes All Understanding. We have received an abundance of blessings over this past year. Every day I look out of my office windows at the beautiful lake view and all of nature around me, and I feel embraced by the actualization of a dream I simply dared to dream. Getting a tree off our roof was easy after several decades of spiritual connection through the weekly practice of MasterMinding. Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn't even have the first 20 or 30 (or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for panic and you turn around to go and get it. 10. You get up in the morning and go on line before getting your coffee. 11. You start tilting your head sideways to smile. : ) 12. You're reading this and nodding and laughing. 13. Even worse, you know exactly to whom you are going to forward this message. 14. You are too busy to notice there was no #9 on this list. 15. You actually scrolled back up to check that there wasn't a #9 on this list and now you are laughing at yourself. Go on, forward this to your friends. You know you want to.

Within moments of assessing our new situation, I called my son (far right.) He and three of his roommates jumped into their cars and were at our home in 25 minutes to help with clean up. One even stopped at his home on the way and came with a chain saw!
