A Note from Mary...

I can't seem to pick up Jack's book "Gifts by the Side of the Road" and not find something I just have to share with you.

This is a book that is for any person wishing to be a better person and make a difference.

Today, I wanted to share something that any parent of a teenager may want to print out and put up on their teen's wall!  Educators will want to put it up in the classrooms, hallways and restrooms!

I hope you will take a few moments and read just a few of his motivational stories that we've provided for you to go read. Click here.

DECLARATION OF RIGHTS FOR TEENAGERS

1.  You have the right to do more than is asked of you on the job, in school, or on your team, and thus make yourself indispensable wherever you work or study.

2.  You have the right to surround yourself with friends who are busy turning dreams into reality. There is no time to turn your realities into nightmares.

3.  You have the right to turn off your television and sleep no more than is necessary so you will never be confused for one of the walking dead.

4. You have the right to live life to the fullest without clouding your minds with alcohol or ruining your future with drugs.

5.  You have the right to devote your energy, share your laughter, and spread your love with family and friends and thus create a sanctuary of the heart where you are always welcome, always appreciated, and your highest and best are always seen.

6.  You have the right to eat the best foods and to exercise daily so your mind and heart are transported in the most attractive of carriages.

7.  You have the right to see the humor in greatness and the greatness in laughter and to ignore the philosophy that says life is too serious for fun.

8. You have the right to be free from the prison of prejudice so you can fully enjoy the blessings of all cultures.

9.  You have the right to learn the lessons of the eagle, that being alone doesn't mean being lonely and the greatest way to protect yourself from a storm is to fly through it and soar into the exhilarating heaven of victory.

10. And finally and most importantly, you have the right to align yourself with that loving power greater than you and thus establish your identity on the rock of eternity for all time.
