Re: Calling all people who want to make a self-sustaining positive difference...
Yes ... our social emotional issues are becoming magnified: 37 school shootings since 1974, and they are getting more frequent!
Putting locks on every door in every building is only putting a band-aid on a generational legacy of pain - a wound that is incapable of healing without compassionate connection and effective skill development.
It will take getting people educated about effective communication, effective parenting, effective teaching, and effective collaborative communication and reaching out and making a difference with effective skills.
It will take intentional revision of harsh and unnecessary "old school" authoritarian minimizing, labeling and marginalizing tactics toward those who are neurologically wired to be sensitive and rightfully reactive to toxic, negative attitudinal energy coming "at" them.
It will take replacing what never did work with what WILL work in order to build a NEW effective model of understanding, compassion and connection, to transform what's going on in all of our communities today.
It begins with: one home, one school, one business, one church, one organization at a time, and from that the ripple effect can and will be felt throughout the world.
My life's work is writing innovative, field-tested, life-changing, social emotional programs that anyone can deliver - and yet the excuse heard repeatedly is ...
"With the daily demands of work (and/or teaching students how to pass tests) we just don't have time!" So, we don't have time (i.e., won't make time) to deal with the very social emotional issues that are draining away the time and energy we need to be a productive and safe community?
One might call this a Catch-22! You say you don't have time to do something that will give you back more time.
New Beginnings: In 2013, will you be a part of the solution or the problem?
Will you give: Reasons or Results !?
