In presenting my Connecting with Colors® Personality Styles material to over 20,000 people (90+% women) in a 2 year period, I quickly discovered that the largest percentage of my audiences were experiencing havoc with their internal dialogue when it came to their Secondary Color Styles getting involved in handling decision making processes.
The inner dialogue between your Predominant Color Style and your Secondary Color Style can be crazy-making ...and not only for you, but also for the people you live, work and play with!
In addition to uncovering the importance of how the Secondary Color Styles can come into play, I then discovered that how people showed up at Work was not necessarily the same Color Style people came Home with!
This seems to happen more with women than men, but can still happen with men as well.
2 Things to Consider
1- Our Secondary Color comes into play when making decisions and depending on the intensity of what Life is offering us, and...
2 - Many people change Color Style Hats between Home, Work, Love, Sex & Money, Parenting/Teaching, 'Tween & Teens, Leading/Management and Sales.
Because of this, I developed Personality Style Assessments - PSAs - in each of the main Life Areas of Interests to help people understand more about what's going on for them internally.
Each Life Area PSA generates its own Individualize Report that shows what the scores are in each Color Style, and an explanation of how your Color Combo plays out in your reactions or decisions.
Understanding just how pivotal this was and tremendously life transforming to my audiences, particularly with the women, has made my system completely DO‑ABLE!
Women who were being accused of being a Dr. Jekyll one minute and a Ms. Hyde the next, or being told they were "Wishy-Washy" or a B...barracuda one minute and a Placater the next or visa versa, or being nice one minute and harsh the next, found it absolutely disconcerting ...not to mention how much it can diminish one's credibility with others!
So I brought in my Attitudinal Energy Techniques to help women ALIGN their Color Styles and DIAL‑In the Color Styles that they were not strong enough in, to help them navigate their way to credibility.
When you invest in any one of the 7 Life Area Personality Style Assessments, you will get a report that shows you how you scored. Let's say your PSA Color Style scores were:
Red score: 8 Blue score: 4 Green score: 2 Yellow score: 6
What this is telling you is that your Primary Color is Red and your Secondary Color is Yellow, or you can say Red/Yellow.
There is not much going on in the Green (2) or Blue (4) areas with these scores. So think about what this means: this person has a director style who is focused on winning results, and is great at delegating (Red), so he or she can get out there and play, relax and have some fun as soon as possible (Yellow).
Important to note: What can be confusing to others about the Red/Yellow is that one minute the Red/Yellow may be off-putting to others, speaking harshly and directly in-your-face commands about what should be done right here, right now because Red/Yellow is totally focused on getting those RESULTs yesterday (Red). However, in the next moment, Yellow takes over, is really FUN, charismatic and engaging, making everyone around them feel as though there's all the time in the world.
Remember: the more intense the situation, the more Red a person with this score will become and the more intense about time schedules and the need to get things done. If your color combo is reversed and you are a Yellow/Red it just means that the more intense the situation, the more Yellow you are more likely to become and you will try to "lighten things up" by popping off funny one-liners and exhibiting your delightful off-the-cuff wit.
The GOAL here is to ALIGN your colors, and you do this by DIALING IN between the two. I will be showing you how to do that in my upcoming TeleTraining Call.
There are no right or wrong answers on the Personality Assessment.
