Dear Difference Maker,
Recently I received an email from one of my subscribers - who after receiving my email about a poster for teachers - wrote: "Thanks for leaving out the word GOD. Ever notice that GOD is DOG spelled backwards?"
My first thought ... isn't DOG man's BEST FRIEND?
There have been many people who have achieved phenomenal success without - in their minds - God.
Personally, I'm not interested in doing it all alone any more! I am the first to admit that, when it comes to life's greatest opportunities to do better than I've done before ... I need help!
I need the help of something greater than myself to wisely guide me to expanding my understanding and vision about what IS possible, rather than accept the "noise" society offers as what I should "settle" for.
In last Saturday's workshop on MasterMinding for a Rich Life, I discussed the resistance many of us have to the word "God," as it relates to our ability to believe ourselves worthy enough to receive and accomplish great things in our lives.
In the opening of MasterMinding for a Rich Life, I share my personal story and resistance to the word "God," and how learning to MasterMind helped me, for the first time, really experience and understand spiritual support through synchronicity, serendipity, and observing things unfolding in my life that were not coincidences, but real visual actualizations of those things I had been holding, imaging, in my mind.
Being raised Methodist in a small farming community in Nebraska, I did not experience an understandable spiritual connection until I started reading renown Methodist Minister, Norman Vincent Peale's Positive Imaging in which he writes...
In imaging, one does not merely think about a hoped-for goal; one "sees" or visualizes it with tremendous intensity, reinforced by prayer.
MasterMinding, is most certainly "seeing," imaging, or visualizing a common objective or goal with tremendous intensity, with a like-minded individual, in the spirit of harmony. It is most certainly intentional prayer.
Which brings up the part about ... "in the spirit of harmony."
When we make life about the right or wrong, good or bad interpretation of words like "God" or "prayer," we withhold from ourselves that which is really trying to happen for the greater good! Maybe it's time - "in the spirit of harmony" to just "get over it" and get to work learning something new that will expand our minds and improve our personal connection to Spirit and therefore our life experience!
Here's what one participant wrote - answering her own question - after the workshop:
My question around that is about the use of the word "God." I am very much like you in the word choice and feeling department when it comes to both individuals and groups; my choice and goal is always specific and INCLUSIVE language. I have found "God" to be a loaded word. (Or a focus on Jesus and the Christian spiritual books--even though, these are my roots and comfort zone - unless it comes, as you say, from a small, elitist, authoritative voice.) So, I have been leery about including your God Wants You To Be Rich beautiful little gift book and emotive of yours in my repertoire of customer, teams (MLM) or friends. That is, I do not want to sound like one of those "I know who God is" elite voices.
Of course, as I listened to you today, though, I did find myself feeling that maybe one of my criteria is that those, at least on my team as well as my MasterMind trio, well...and maybe even my circle of close friends ... ought to be ones who are comfortable with that, because it certainly is the centre of my universe.
If the word "God" has been a concern for you, if you are in resistance like I was at one time, then this is the workshop you've been waiting for .... all for the price of just one eBook! |
