The original title of this book was to be Gifts by the Side of the Road. My goal was to awaken a nation to how much Appreciation we owe to those who have gone before and those who are here now.
However, it has turned into a Love Letter to all those I have known and all those I have yet to meet, but who have blessed not only my life but Life Itself.
Over the years I have received so many gifts I had to share them. It is my prayer that, as you read these writings, you will become aware of your Gifts, Gifts that you can leave by the Side of the Road for others. Gifts that will enable you to join with me and proclaim.
This book is a journey I share with you as we discover and come to appreciate all of the many gifts left by wonderful people we have never met. Sir Isaac Newton said, "If I have seen farther than most men, it is because I have stood on the shoulders of giants." It is my prayer that these stories and observations may lead you gentle readers to the discovery of the giants within you giants of talent, courage, creativity, and compassion and inspire you to leave your gifts by the side of the road.
