We All Make A Difference. The Question is: What Kind of Difference Are We Making?

I am blessed to receive emails all the time from people wanting to know how they can help me advande my life's work and message. I can't remember ever doing this before ... asking for your help to make an even greater difference!

I don't need to tell you that our educational system needs real and meaningful support ... this is just one aspect of my life's body of work because it's where my entrepreneurial trek began.

The story behind the story of my 9-week curriculum is this:

As I've mentioned in several of my books, when I was a 6th grade teacher, I was almost fired, because five or more other teachers had teamed up to complain to the Superintendent about how much fun the children were having in my classroom, believing that my students couldn't possibly be learning a thing.

I was called into the Superintendent's office one day and informed that my job was on the line and was 100% dependent on how well my kids scored on the Stanford Achievement Test Series. Thankfully I was told this just after giving the test to the kids so I didn't inadvertently stress them out with my fear!

When the test results came in, I was blown away to find that my entire class had excelled beyond anything I could have ever imagined. Then I went to the school's files and investigated how these kids had done in their previous years tests - in researchiing the complaining teachers" results - I found these kids had actually lost academic growth with the 4th & 5th grade teachers by 2-3 years.

Not only did they make up what they lost in the two previous years, they averaged an overall growth of 2-3 years that year because of what was actually happening in my classroom. I marched the results right in to my Superintendent ...and after studying the comparisons he apologized to me on the spot! My job was secure ... but the gift in all of this was that I suddenly had a new awareness of how much I was actually helping my students to achieve in measurable terms!

This 9-week curriculum I'm offering educators for free IS the basic foundation and fundamentals of the work I did with very high-risk populations of students from every imaginable walk of life - from the first day of every school year.

Why would I give my curriculum away now, when it's the end of the school year?

Because as schools are closing their doors for the summer, they are also planning now for their August in-service training.
