Dream ...don't hallucinate!

Last week we released our free online film that we produced nearly 20 years ago. I filmed it for my speaking engagements when I first started my entrepreneurial trek as an author and motivational speaker. I want to share another Eagle type story with you this week about a woman who had been working in my MasterMinding for a Rich Life eBook who loved to sing, with all of her heart, mind and soul ... and yet, couldn't carry a tune!

We lived in the same city, and she had invited me to see a small production she was in with a group of her friends one evening. I found it interesting that she didn't seem to know she sang off-key, and she did it with a big smile, big bravado and a big wide-open heart! After the production I went back stage to give her a hug and let her know I had been in the audience. She wanted to know what I thought she should do to take her singing dreams to the next level.

Side-Bar: First, I want offer you a "new" way to think about this from a higher perspective. Suspend judgement. In MasterMinding, the single most important thing you can do is to "honor" whatever a person thinks their dream is. Just honor it. Judging it ... being "realistic" about it does not serve whatever is trying to happen for that person within the context of a MasterMind. You and I and every one else on the planet need the time and space to really learn to hear our own inner guidance. Being realistic, is "your" limitation, so try to pull being a know-it-all about "how not to succeed at your dream" back in and just learn to be quiet and listen to your own "higher perspective" inner guidance.

Commit this to memory: First of all, it's not for you or me to decide what her real dream is. I happen to trust that every person's Inner Guidance knows. So I trusted that she'd already been receiving her inner answers.

Moment of Truth: When she asked me what I thought she should do, I simply asked her what "next level" in singing meant to her. She was crystal clear: she wanted to be a dinner theater singer and performer. I then asked her if she'd been feeling - or had a hunch about - what step she'd like to make next toward singing at a more competitive, dinner theater level. She paused for only a second and quickly realized she already had been receiving her answer. She said, "Well, I've been feeling like it's time for me to take professional singing lessons to prepare me for the stage I want to be on."

I said, "Great! Do you know who you might want to work with?" She said she didn't have a clue who to go to. Because she'd been working with my MasterMinding system, I asked her if she'd like me to see her attracting the right and perfect teacher for her to develop her singing career to the level where she could win a part in a dinner-theater production. She said that was exactly what she wanted for me to see for her. So she formulated the request and stated it to me. I did a "see back" and we parted company saying to each other, "this or something greater."

A year later: I serendipitously ran into her downtown, and she was radiant. She had such an amazing glow about her. She couldn't wait to tell me how much her singing had matured with the professional singing coach who was brought to her "out of the blue" immediately after our last meeting together. She reached into her purse and pulled out a CD and told me she wanted me to have it. I already knew how good it was going to be before I even played it, by the joy I saw in her. And sure enough, she could sing and sing beautifully. She told me she had just landed her first dinner theater roll and it was the lead!

Maybe, when you watched our Eagle Parable movie, you thought about how many people don't succeed, like on American Idol for example.

It's Mathematical: 1 + 1 = 2 ... if you do nothing, and I do mean "nothing" to learn something new about how to THINK more expansively then, of course, you will not succeed. If you do not take "inspired" action when it whispers to you to do so, then you will not be able to spread your wings and fly.

It's really simple: The people who try out on American Idol who have done nothing mentally, physically and spiritually to prepare for their success ... have not prepared!

Prepare for your success: If you don't like what you are getting, see something different. Take it upon yourself to learn something new every day, and then take inspired action to do something that is headed in the direction of your dreams.

You can change your thinking, change your communication, change the picture you hold in your head (your images of the world) and you can change your behavior (the things you do.) That's all you really have the internal power to manage anyway.

You can gain control of your thoughts, your images, your dreams and daydreams, and your behavior by expanding your knowledge base.

Everything you think, say, and do must become intentional and aligned with your purpose, your values, and your goals if you are to experience the dreams that keep pulling at you to make happen.

As with my singing friend, she had the heart of an Eagle for the dream that was trying to come through her ... and it was only about learning how to sing on key with bravado ... from someone who could teach her. It's called: Skill Acquisition... which is your Attractor Factor!
